States and territories have agreed on a national approach to non-urban water metering.
Use the framework and guidelines to ensure you understand how to comply.
Metrological Assurance Framework 2
All Australian states and territories, 2021
The Metrological Assurance Framework 2 (MAF2) sets out requirements for non-urban metering.
It means:
- higher confidence in meter accuracy
- easier methods to ensure meter accuracy
- consistent regulation of water metering across Australia
- better compliance data for water users, regulators, meter installers and manufacturers.
You can find more guidance on state or territory websites.
The MAF2 replaces the original (2009) Metrological Assurance Framework.
