Goulburn regulated allocation sale – September 2018

The Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder has completed its tender to sell 20,837 megalitres (ML) of Commonwealth environmental water from the Goulburn for a return of $6,043,618 for the Murray Darling environment. The volume weighted average price of the 78 successful bids was $290.04 per ML. The last trade was registered on 25 September 2018.

Gwydir regulated allocation sale – January 2018

The Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder has completed two (2) trades, resulting in the sale of 6,700 megalitres (ML) of Commonwealth environmental water in the Gwydir for a return of $2,878,400 for the Murray Darling environment. The volume weighted average price (VWAP)1 of successful bids was $429.61 per ML. The last trade was registered on 18 January 2018.

Goulburn regulated allocation sale – November 2015

The Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder has completed 44 trades, resulting in the sale of 22,864 megalitres (ML) of Commonwealth environmental water in the southern Murray Darling Basin for a return of $6,457,669 for the Murray Darling environment. The last trade was registered on 18 November 2015.

The parcel volume ranged from 30 ML – 5111 ML, with a median trade volume of 200 ML and a volume weighted average bid price of $282/ML. Information on price and volume traded as part of this sale is provided in the link below. A summary of market activity is also provided.

Bidder survey

Following the completion of the trade, 48 bidders provided valuable feedback on how well the tender was run and what could be done to improve future trades of Commonwealth environmental water. The results of the bidder survey can be found below.

Peel regulated allocation sale – March 2014

The Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder has completed 7 trades, resulting in the sale of 340 megalitres (ML) of Commonwealth environmental water in the Peel for a return of $32,580 for the Murray Darling environment.

State Water approved the last trade on 10 April 2014. The parcel volume ranged from 20 ML – 150 ML, with a median volume of 30 ML and a volume weighted average bid price of $95.82/ML. Gwydir regulated allocation sale – January 2014

The Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder has completed 16 trades, resulting in the sale of 10 gigalitres of Commonwealth environmental water in the Gwydir for a return of $3.217 million for the Murray Darling environment.

State Water approved the last trade on 4 February 2014. The parcel volume ranged from 250 ML – 1,500 ML, with a median volume of 500 ML and a volume weighted average bid price of $321.74/ML.
