Community members, First Nations peoples, farmers, fishers, business owners and other interested people are invited to attend an online Q&A session about water for the environment on Tuesday October 19, 2021.
The webinar, called “A Conversation with the CEWH”, will be held at midday and 7pm, as well as being recorded, to provide ample opportunity for everyone to tune in. Attendees will hear about where and when water for the environment is planned to be released in 2021-22.
Interim Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder, Hilton Taylor, said water for the environment within the Murray-Darling Basin is an important issue that raises many questions.
“This webinar is the perfect opportunity for people to hear about where and when water for the environment may be used across the Basin in the year ahead and ask any questions they may have.
“We are deliberately leaving a good portion of the hour-long webinar for Q&A so we can answer as many questions as possible.
“Key to our work is improving the health of our waterways to benefit local communities and we will have two of our Local Engagement Officers on the panel to take questions.
“Healthy rivers mean healthy communities and we’re totally committed to working collaboratively to achieve the best results possible during wet and dry times,” he said.
