About this assessment
In 2007 the Australian Heritage Council (AHC) was asked to assess Sullivans Cove and Precinct, in Hobart.
In 2014 the AHC completed its assessment of the place. In order to include a place in the National Heritage List, the Minister is required by the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 to find the heritage values of the place of "outstanding heritage value". The AHC found that given the high threshold of significance set for the National Heritage List, Sullivans Cove and Precinct did not meet any of the nine National Heritage criteria. Having considered the AHC’s advice, on 21 September 2014, the Minister decided not to add the place to the National Heritage List.
