On 13 February 2017, the Minister for the Environment and Energy, the Hon Josh Frydenberg MP entered St Kilda Rd and Environs in the National Heritage List under the emergency listing provisions of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). The Australian Heritage Council is now inviting people to comment on the listing, in particular whether St Kilda Rd and Environs meets any National Heritage criteria; and whether it should continue to be included in the National Heritage List.

All comments will be taken into account by the Australian Heritage Council in making its assessment. All comments will also be provided to the Australian Government Minister for the Environment and Energy, for consideration when making his decision on whether to include the place on the National Heritage List.
