Troubleshoot declaration errors

WELD portal

If some fields don’t populate properly or you can’t select or see certain parts of the portal, consider:

  • changing your browser to, for example, Chrome, Firefox or Safari. Microsoft no long supports Internet Explorer so the WELD portal may not work properly when using this browser
  • installing updates to your browser. To check if updates are available, in most browsers, click the ellipsis (three dots), select Settings then click About [browser name].

  • ‘My messages’ in your WELD portal.

Integrated Cargo System or approved ICS interface

Error Solution
Net quantity of goods covered by permit, Permit Number = WEN-2021-XXXX exceeds allowed limit Make sure that the net quantity entered in your EDN application in the Australian Border Force’s Integrated Cargo System (ICS) or approved ICS interface is less than or equal to the net quantity entered in your declaration in the WELD portal.
Permit Number = WEN-2021-XXXX does not exist Make sure that the permit number entered in your EDN application in Australian Border Force’s Integrated Cargo System (ICS) or approved ICS interface is correct. It must be the same as the permit number listed in ‘My declarations’ in the WELD portal.
Permit Number = WEN-2021-XXXX, cannot be used with declared AHECC Make sure that the AHECC code entered in your EDN application in Australian Border Force’s Integrated Cargo System (ICS) or approved ICS interface is the same as the one you entered in your declaration in the WELD portal.
Check you are using a current export (AHECC) code.
AHECC codes have recently changed. To see current codes, refer to page 3 below or visit Declare exports of waste - Tyre waste
Other error messages Make sure that all details entered in your EDN application in Australian Border Force’s Integrated Cargo System (ICS) or approved ICS interface are the same as those entered in your declaration in the WELD portal.
Note: The net quantity (amount) can be the same or less than the net quantity you entered when making the declaration in the WELD portal.

If you can’t fix the problem or there are other ICS-related issues, consult your export agent or freight forwarder.

If you don’t use an export agent or freight forwarder, contact the ABF’s ICS support team and include the following information in the Cargo Support enquiry form:

  • name and number of licence or exemption holder
  • description of the issue and the error message/s (if any)
  • export declaration number (EDN) (if any)
  • WEN/WEX/DEX permit number
  • ABN/CCID/ACN of licence holder
  • AHECC code
  • net quantity (amount) of export goods (not including container) and unit (KG, T or Number)
  • intended date of export
  • final destination country code.
