The Department is taking an active role in facilitating more multi-stakeholder partnering to sustain Australia’s unique environment.
We aim to bring together the unique strengths and resources of diverse partners to have more impact and achieve more sustainable outcomes for the environment, than each partner could by acting alone.
Our Partnerships Team is here to help connect you with the right people in the Department, and potentially external organisations, to explore partnering ideas. Partnering can take the form of simple low commitment information-sharing relationships. In its most sophisticated form, resources, benefits and risks are shared and partnering is transformational.
The Department is on a journey to improve how we partner with others to achieve shared outcomes. Traditionally, to deliver policy objectives we have largely provided grants to deliver specified outcomes and procured goods and services. By partnering, we are aiming to co-create better and more integrated solutions with others, to complement our existing programs.
