About this document
The South-east Marine Region Profile captures information on the conservation values and human activity in the South-east Marine Region. In particular, eight key ecological features and biologically important areas of 21 regionally significant species are detailed in this document.
There is currently no marine bioregional plan for the South-east Marine Region. Unlike marine bioregional plans, the South-east Marine Region Profile has not been made under s176 of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). As such, it has no legal status in decision-making. However, it provides a useful source of information about the South-east Marine Region that could inform decisions made under the EPBC Act.
