Approved lists under the EPBC Act and nominating something for listing

The Environment Protection and Biodiversity Act 1999 (EPBC Act) protects our nationally significant animals, plants, habitats and places. We have a range of listings to show what these are. You can also nominate a native species, ecological community or threatening process for listing.

These are the approved lists under the EPBC Act.

  • National Heritage List
  • Commonwealth Heritage List
  • Overseas places of historic significance to Australia
  • Australian places on the World Heritage List.
