159-2018 - Recording of Webinar on Automatic Entry Processing for Commodities (AEPCOMM) procedures for Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB)

2 November 2018

Who does this notice affect?

Brokers, importers and biosecurity industry participants (BIP’s) operating under the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources Class 19.2 Approved Arrangement: Automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM)

What has changed?

On Monday 29 October the department hosted a Webinar for accredited persons operating under the 19.2 automatic entry processing for commodities (AEPCOMM) approved arrangement. The webinar focussed on recent changes to the arrangement in relation to the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) season.

The recording of this webinar is now available to listen and/or download.

The links to the webinar are available on the Automatic Entry Processing (AEP) reform web page along with a copy of the transcript of the webinar. The list of questions asked during the webinar with answers and a frequently asked questions (FAQs) sheet will be made available in the near future.

The AEP reform webpage is where you will also find the Assessment guide for class 19.2 accredited persons.  This guide has recently been updated to version 3 to rectify a discrepancy with the tariffs that are applicable for exemption for BMSB measures from 1 December 2018. Please ensure that you refer to the updated guide when making your AEPCOMM assessments.

The department hopes that the webinar was informative and encourages the use of AEPCOMM by BIP’s to assist with the management of BMSB and to avoid processing delays.
