The National Standard for Organic and Bio-dynamic Produce (the National Standard) is Australia’s export standard for organic and bio-dynamic produce. The National Standard provides the requirements for the labelling of goods which either state or imply they have been produced under organic or bio-dynamic systems. The National Standard includes requirements for production, processing, storage, transportation, labelling and importation of produce and aligns with the requirements of our international trading partners.
As of 1 January 2022, the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment will manage the National Standard for Organic and Bio-Dynamic Produce (the National Standard). The National Standard Advisory Committee (NSAC) support the department by making recommendations for amendments, revisions and updates to the department quarterly.
The National Standard Advisory Committee (NSAC)
The NSAC is a committee of individuals, acting independently of any organisation. The committee is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations to the department on amendments, revisions and updates to the National Standard.
National Standard Amendment Submissions
Any section of the National Standard is open for review.
Applications are welcome to be submitted via the Application to amend the National Standard for Organic and Bio-Dynamic Produce form. Applications will be included to the NSAC work plan for evaluation as per the applicable guidelines.
