In June 2014, International Livestock Export Pty Ltd (ILE) self-reported a possible non-compliance with Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System (ESCAS) requirements in Indonesia. ILE advised that 20 cattle were stolen in an armed robbery during transport from the port to the approved feedlot.
The importer made efforts to recover all the animals, however only thirteen were found.
The review found that the incident was beyond the control of ILE and could not have been avoided by the exercise of all due care.
No non-compliance was recorded and no regulatory action was taken against ILE.
