Purpose
To advise exporters of administrative changes which will simplify the approval arrangements for applications to vary approved Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System (ESCAS).
Background
An approved ESCAS is required for each individual consignment of livestock exported for slaughter or feeder purposes.
Exporters may seek to vary their approved ESCAS to add or remove facilities.
Instructions
From 31 July 2014 the department will simplify the format of approval documents for successful applications to vary approved ESCAS.
The department will no longer issue a completely revised instrument of approval for each consignment included in the application; instead a single instrument referencing the consignments and the changes approved to the applicable ESCAS will be issued.
Exporters seeking clarification as to any approved changes to an ESCAS should contact the Live Animal Exports Branch on (02) 6272 4581 or Live Stock Exports
