Purpose
To remind exporters of the importance of ensuring that Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System (ESCAS) requirements are met during the Eid al-Adha festival period.
Background
There is in increased demand for livestock during the Eid al-Adha festival and that this may lead to an increased risk of non-compliance with ESCAS requirements.
Instructions
- Exporters are reminded that there may be an increased risk of non-compliance with ESCAS requirements during the Eid al-Adha festival period.
- Exporters are responsible for ensuring that regulatory requirements are met. Where necessary, exporters may choose to put in place additional risk management measures to ensure that all relevant regulatory requirements continue to be met.
- It is a condition of ESCAS approvals that where exporters become aware of potential or actual non-compliance with ESCAS requirements, exporters must report these incidents to the Department of Agriculture.
